Day 1: Arrive Buenos Aires On arrival at Buenos Aires you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival time, we recommend a tango show with dinner this evening. Standard: Intersur Recoleta; Superior: Brizo Buenos Aires; Deluxe: Madero Buenos Aires

Day 2: Buenos Aires – Bariloche Transfer to the domestic airport and fly to Bariloche. Nestled in the heart of Patagonia’s lake district with a backdrop of snowy Andean peaks, majestic deep blue and emerald lakes and never-ending forests, Bariloche is postcard perfect in its setting and a delight throughout the seasons. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and take in Bariloche’s beautiful surroundings. Day 3: Bariloche Sightseeing A morning excursion takes you west along the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, taking the chairlift to Cerro Campanario for some of the best views in the region. From here the landscape changes into lush temperate rainforest. Continue past Lake Moreno and the sheer face of Mount López for fantastic views of the lakes and islands before returning to Bariloche. Day 4: Bariloche – El Calafate Transfer to Bariloche airport and fly south to El Calafate, the gateway to Los Glacieres National Park. Upon arrival in El Calafate you will be met and transferred to your hotel in this picturesque lakeside town. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Day 5: Perito Moreno Glacier Enjoy a full-day tour to Perito Moreno Glacier, the most outstanding of the 356 glaciers within the Glacieres National Park, covering more than four square kilometres of Lake Argentino. Depart on the Nautical Safari which offers spectacular views along the entire face of the glacier before your return to El Calafate. (B)

Day 6: Ice Rivers Tour Today you’ll board a catamaran and navigate the northern arm of Lago Argentino, across the Boca del Diablo (Devil’s Mouth), the narrowest part of the lake, towards the Spegazzini and Upsala glaciers. Sail among spectacular icebergs of immense size and varied forms and enjoy excellent views of the glaciers. (B)

Day 7: El Calafate – Ushuaia Transfer to the airport and fly to Ushuaia, the most southerly city in the world. Known as the ‘City at the End of the World’, travellers making it this far south will be following in the footsteps of Magellan, Darwin and other great explorers. Day 8: Ushuaia In the morning visit Lapataia in the Tierra del Fuego National Park with its many rivers, lakes and peat bogs and where the rich green vegetation acts as a backdrop to the ghostlike trunks of trees which were damaged by ancient fires. This afternoon there is the opportunity to take a catamaran cruise on the Beagle Channel in search of birdlife and the magnificent Magellanic penguins (additional cost). (B)

Day 9: Depart Ushuaia Your tour concludes today with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Ask about extending your stay, perhaps on a Patagonian cruise to Chile. (B)
