4 day Uyuni Salt Flat Experience

Day 1: La Paz – Uyuni Salt Flats Fly from La Paz to Uyuni and travel south through the highlands and areas of magnificent stone formations created by erosion. Continue through high valleys to the village of Villamar. (LD)

Day 2: Villamar – Coloured Lagoons – Ojo de Perdiz Rise early for a long but exhilarating day of sightseeing. First enter the National Reserve of Eduardo Abaroa and visit Laguna Colorada (Red Lagoon), a shallow salt lake and where up to 30,000 flamingos nest at an altitude of over 4,200m. Next it’s to the geothermal geysers of Sol de Mañana and Challviri lagoon, with hot springs. Cross the high desert of Pampas de Dali, with amazing otherworldly views, to finally reach the emerald Laguna Verde (Green Lake) in the foothills of the Licancabur Mountains. Travel through the high deserts of Siloli, stopping at the rock formations at Arbol de Piedra before reaching the small community of Ojos de Perdiz. (BLD)

Day 3: Ojo de Perdiz – Uyuni Salt flats – Colchani Take a morning trip to the Hedionda and Cañapa minor lagoons to the valley of Alota. Once through the highlands you will enter the great Uyuni salt flats and visit ‘Isla Incahuasi’ a unique habitat of volcanic rock formations and giant cacti. Continue to the village of Colchani, where the locals produce salt and enjoy a great sunset at your unique hotel – a hotel made entirely from salt! (BLD)

Day 4: Colchani – Uyuni Airport Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B) Note: Accommodation options are basic but comfortable for the remoteness of the region. Travel is at high altitude so recommended that you have had a few days acclimatisation prior to departure.
