Day 1: Manaus – Anavilhanas Lodge Transfer to Anavilhanas Lodge (around three hours on a paved but sometimes bumpy road), located on the banks of the Rio Negro, across from the world’s largest river archipelago. After a welcome briefing to plan out a schedule of activities for your stay settle into eco-friendly cottages or bungalows built on suspended wooden structures, offering a combination simplicity and comfort. Days 2 & 3: Amazon Jungle Explorations The next two days will be filled with activities to discover the unique flora and fauna of the area as well as gaining insights into the culture of the local people. Guided tours offered include searching for pink river dolphins in the Anavilhanas Archipelago, canoeing through the mangroves, piranha fishing, seeing the forest come alive by night, visits to the local community and learning traditional hunting techniques of the indigenous people. When not participating in the Lodge’s activities, relax at the lush pool area or have a drink at the bar. Meals are served in the restaurant and offer a variety of Amazonian flavours and international cuisine. (BLD)
Day 4: Anavilhanas Lodge – Manaus After breakfast return to Manaus. For a once in a lifetime experience ask about returning by hydroplane (additional supplement). (B)
