Day 1: Arrive Frankfurt Check in to your hotel in Germany’s buzzing financial hub and enjoy a free afternoon before meeting your tour director and fellow travellers in the evening. Leonardo Royal Frankfurt

Day 2: Frankfurt – Weimar – Berlin Today you’ll head to the intellectual heart of Germany, Weimar, once home to many famous luminaries such as Bach and Goethe. You’ll continue through Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt to reach the capital city of Berlin. (B) Abba Berlin (2 nights)

Day 3: Berlin On this morning’s fascinating guided tour discover a blend of old and new. Berlin has both iconic architecture and modern buildings, along with a lively eccentricity – anything goes in this beautiful city. (B)

Day 5: Warsaw Learn about the magnificent reconstruction of Warsaw following the destruction of WWII on a fascinating guided tour. (B)

Day 6: Warsaw – Jasna Góra – Auschwitz – Krakow As you head south today, you’ll have many encounters with fascinating history. Jasna Góra is the monastery that faced the repeated onslaught of the Swedish forces during the religious wars of the 17th Century. Its Black Madonna is revered as the ‘Queen of Poland’ and has become the country’s national symbol. Before arriving in Krakow, you’ll pay an emotional visit to the ruins of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, a haunting reminder of the tragedies of the Holocaust. (BD) Hotel Swing (2 nights)

Day 7: Krakow Known as Poland’s most beautiful city and its former capital, Krakow is certainly the country’s cultural heart. Enjoy a morning of sightseeing, taking in the sights of the city including the Jewish Quarter, Market Square, St. Mary’s Church and Wawel Cathedral. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your leisure. (B)

Day 9: Budapest Spend the day taking in all the sights and sounds on a guided tour of Budapest. (B)

Day 14: Munich – Nördlingen – Rothenburg – Frankfurt The highlight today is undoubtedly the Romantic Road, which runs north to south as far as the Alps.
