Day 2: Frankfurt – Weimar – Berlin Today you’ll head to the intellectual heart of Germany, Weimar, once home to many famous luminaries such as Bach and Goethe. You’ll continue through Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt to reach the capital city of Berlin. (B) Abba Berlin (2 nights)

Day 6: Warsaw – Jasna Góra – Auschwitz – Krakow As you head south today, you’ll have many encounters with fascinating history. Jasna Góra is the monastery that faced the repeated onslaught of the Swedish forces during the religious wars of the 17th Century. Its Black Madonna is revered as the ‘Queen of Poland’ and has become the country’s national symbol. Day 7: Krakow Known as Poland’s most beautiful city and its former capital, Krakow is certainly the country’s cultural heart. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your leisure. (B)

Day 14: Munich – Nördlingen – Rothenburg – Frankfurt The highlight today is undoubtedly the Romantic Road, which runs north to south as far as the Alps.
