Day 1: Arrive Rome Check in to your hotel before spending some time exploring Italy’s ancient capital and meeting your fellow travellers in the evening. Hotel Laurentia (2 nights)
Day 2: Rome Steeped in history, Rome is well worth a guided tour, which you’ll enjoy this morning. Begin with St. Peter’s Square, the heart of the Vatican, and see other iconic highlights like the Colosseum and Roman Forum. (B)
Day 3: Rome – Pisa – Florence Watch rolling hills, cypress trees and olive groves pass by as you drive from Rome into the heart of Tuscany. Stop in Pisa to visit the legendary Leaning Tower and Square of Miracles. Continue on to Florence, ‘Cradle of the Renaissance.’ (B) Italiana Hotel and Resort (2 nights)
Day 4: Florence Today is devoted to Florence with a guided walking tour of the city’s greatest attractions, including Piazza Santa Croce, Palazzo Vecchio, Duomo and more. There’s plenty of history to uncover and photo opportunities along the way. (BD)
Day 5: Florence – Verona – Venice Today you’ll travel north and cross the Po River to fair Verona, the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. See Juliet’s famous balcony and be sure to rub her statue for good luck. Continue on to the Roman Amphitheatre where gladiators once battled – it is now a popular venue for operas and festivals. Head onwards to Venice where you’ll enjoy a stay for two nights. (B) Hotel Poppi (2 nights)
Day 6: Venice View the delightful crisscrossing canals, the gondolas, arched bridges, palaces, and piazzas. Your included orientation features a boat ride to St. Mark’s Square and a visit to a Venetian glassblowing workshop. Later, explore at leisure on your own, join an optional excursion, or just relax, sipping a cappuccino or typical Venetian drink called spritz at one of the many bars or cafés. (BD)
Day 7: Depart Venice After a delicious breakfast this morning, bid farewell to Venice and your Italian adventure. (B)
